Privacy policy

Overview

Haru does not require an account, display ads, or sell personal information. Your learning progress is stored locally on your device. Haru may offer optional anonymous usage analytics and may receive feedback that you deliberately submit. This policy describes those activities.

Information stored on your device

Haru stores learning progress and app preferences locally so lessons and practice can reflect what you have completed. This can include lesson progress, practice outcomes, and settings. This local progress is not an account and is not routinely sent to Arydian Labs.

Removing the app or clearing its data may remove this local information. Available backup behavior can depend on your device and operating-system settings.

Optional anonymous analytics

If you choose to enable analytics, Haru may collect limited product-usage information to understand whether the app works as intended. This may include lesson starts and completion, exercise outcomes, feature use, app version, operating-system platform, and anonymous technical identifiers.

Analytics is intended to be opt-in. It must not include your name, email address, microphone recordings, advertising identifiers, or your complete local progress database. You can disable optional analytics in Haru’s settings.

Error reporting

When analytics and error reporting are enabled, Haru may send limited diagnostic information about application errors. This information is intended to help identify crashes and technical failures and may include app version, platform, and technical context related to the error.

Feedback you choose to send

Haru may let you deliberately submit written feedback. A submission may include the message you enter, the selected category, app version, platform, lesson identifier, and step identifier. Feedback is sent only when you choose to submit it and may work independently of analytics consent.

Please do not include passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information in feedback.

Information Haru does not collect

Haru does not use advertising identifiers, access your contacts, request your exact location, or record microphone audio. It does not display ads or sell personal information.

Service providers

Haru may use PostHog for optional product analytics and application-error reporting. It may use Cloudflare infrastructure to receive feedback that you deliberately submit. These providers process limited information on behalf of Arydian Labs for the purposes described in this policy. Their own infrastructure and privacy practices may also apply.

Data retention

Local learning progress remains on your device until it is removed through the app, device settings, or app removal, subject to your device’s backup behavior. Optional analytics, diagnostics, and submitted feedback are retained only as reasonably needed to operate, understand, and improve Haru, handle requests, and meet legitimate legal obligations. Arydian Labs does not promise a fixed retention period until the production services and deletion settings have been finalized.

Your choices

You can use Haru without an account. You can decline or disable optional analytics in Haru’s settings. You decide whether to submit written feedback. You can remove local app data using controls offered by Haru or your device, where available.

Data deletion requests

You may contact Arydian Labs at arydianlabs@gmail.com with a privacy or deletion request. Because Haru does not require an account and optional analytics is intended to be anonymous, Arydian Labs may not be able to identify or connect anonymous records to you. We will explain what can reasonably be located and deleted.

Children’s privacy

Haru is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Arydian Labs does not knowingly design Haru to collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as Haru and its supporting services develop. When it changes, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will be described through an appropriate notice where reasonably possible.
